An inlay is a technique of inserting pieces of contrasting material into depressions made on a base object. The production of pearl inlay furniture and decorative items is a three-step process and requires up to a month to create each piece. First, the fragments of mother pearl shells are shaped delicately. Then these intricate shapes are affixed onto an MDF frame in a detailed & stylized pattern. After this, the colored resin is filled around the shaped pieces of MOP to craft the background. The mother of pearl shells is offset by the striking color of the resin to create an exotic-looking rustic piece of home decor.
